Day 1 and 2 Travel Day and Doolin

Short hand in some cases because I don’t want to spend all night working up a nicely worded blog post. Kelly is writing so if she happens to say I every so often, that’s what’s up.

Day 1 and 2 of travels

We left on Wednesday the 13th and flew to Chicago, 4 hours, and then over to Shannon, 7 hours. 4 hr and 7 hour flights. We arrived 24 hours after we left then had another whole day to get through so we are very tired from little rest. We basically hit the ground running. Gretchen’s first impressions: how green it was and how neat and tidy the houses appear. Small but very neat. People seem to have a reverence for their land and their country. We didn't see any trash anywhere. Kelly’s first impression: Adam and I need to come back here together. Life is slower here, even during busy touristy times. We got our rental car- a stick shift, and yep it was quite comical figuring everything out. Kelly is doing all the driving. She kept saying out loud, “left side of the road, especially around roundabouts. We drove straight to the Rock of Cashel.

We walked up to this beautiful castle built in the 1100's, took a tour and had lunch in the charming little town of Cashel. Drove back toward Doolin to our quaint little bed and breakfast. We caught a glimpse of the Cliffs of Moher, which we will see tomorrow. After settling our stuff into our place we walked around the little town and ate some dinner at a pub with some live music. You know, the food just tastes so good and the people are so friendly. We are super tired. What a fun, full, and exciting first day.
